Petroleum Clubs

Good Morning!

In my research about the petroleum lifestyle, I've found there are a few clubs that are an awesome starting point!  I have been worried about getting to know people in the field and what to expect (which is the reason I started Landman Wives) but I found these websites and there is a place for us!  They are spread out around the south and the midwest.  I read about some ladies who back in the 60's started their own club, Black Gold, for wives of men in the oil & gas field.  There was no catering back then, so they would take turns hosting dinners for the rest of the members at different locations.  That is so awesome and what I was thinking about!  A time where we could get together and meet each other, have a sense of community, no matter where we moved!

The Birth of Landman Wives!

Hello, Hello!

Landman Wives is a little idea I had, as we have gotten the news that there is a possibility that we are going to be moving to one of several places down south.  I have been trying to research about these cities, neighborhoods, schools, playgrounds, lifestyles, etc and there is no resource for families like ours who have to go with their husbands to better jobs!  I thought, well since there is no community for us, I might as well just be the one to start it!  So here it is, Landman Wives, our home away from home.  The place I would love for us to come to when we feel alone and have to figure everything out for ourselves.  When we are changing our whole lives around and we feel so overwhelmed by all of the things we have to do, we could come here, and talk with other women who are in the same position.  I am going to try to put all of the research I've done on here for everyone (and for myself) and organize it so it is easily accessible when we need advice!  I can't wait to get this started and maybe we can make friends in the places we are moving to or find ones in our own communities that we didn't even know where there!  That way, we aren't alone, we have someone who understands the lifestyle of a Landman Wife!
